No Kings 3 – FAQ

What is No Kings Day?

No Kings Day is a nationwide protest against authoritarianism. We’re uniting with people across the country to say – NO to Kings in America.

When is it?

Saturday, March 28, 2026. The Johnson County protest is from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.

Where is it?

We’re lining Metcalf from 75th to 119th Street! You’re free to congregate anywhere, but this year, we have different groups adopting blocks along Metcalf! You can join one of them or camp out wherever you find space. Here’s a list of who’s adopting which blocks:

75th at the CVS corner: The Tuesday Project

75th at the  Dunkin Donuts corner: The Handmaids Army

75th at the Walgreens corner: Shawnee community hub

75th at the Price Chopper corner: OP community hub

80th Street: The Sierra Club

91st Street: Little Lobbyists (super kid friendly!)

95th Street: JoCo Democrats LGBTQ+ Caucus

103rd West: Olathe community hub

103rd East: Shawnee Mission Unitarian Universalist Church

College Blvd: Veterans for Peace

119th Street: ACLU

119th Street: NTEU/Union Solidarity

Plus: Bring jars of peanut butter and jelly for Peggy’s Pantry, a free, no-barrier front-yard pantry in Johnson County.

Why adopt blocks?

A big part of this movement is about building community. We want to make it easy for attendees to find a group they’re interested in supporting – or bring friends and build their own community.

Where do we park?

We suggest parking along the residential and commercial streets on either side of Metcalf. Make sure you leave plenty of time to park and walk to your spot.

I need accessible parking. Where do I find it?

What if I’m not part of any of the groups adopting blocks?

That’s OK! Groups are adopting blocks, in part, to make new friends and share information about their work and passions. You’re welcome anywhere.

I’ve never been to a rally. What can I expect?

Expect a lot of good energy and great company. Bring a sign, a chair, bubbles – whatever you want!

What safety rules do you have in place?

Lots! First, we have safety marshals throughout the route who are trained in de-escalation. They’ll also remind folks of the safety rules, which include:

  • Staying on the sidewalk and not entering the street.
  • Crossing at the crosswalk.
  • Obeying traffic signals.
