We’re a grassroots organization focused on improving the lives of our fellow Midwesterners. We protect and mobilize our community in response to the crisis in our federal government. Our power is in action.

How to Talk to Your MAGA Aunt

6:30 – 7:15 p.m.

Sheila Shockey is president of Shockey Consulting, which provides governments with  planning and public engagement services. A Western Kansas transplant, Sheila is well-versed in how to navigate conversations across all the aisles. Not sure how to talk to that MAGA soccer mom? Interested in how to share your opinion without going fist-to-cuffs? Sheila will offer practical, actionable guidance.

Beyond Burnout: How to Get Back in the Game

7:15 – 8 p.m.

Dr. Ace Allen is a two-time candidate for the Kansas House of Representatives. Twice, they’ve come THIS CLOSE to winning. He and his wife may have wanted to chuck it all in, but they didn’t. They’ll talk about how they got back in the game and kept fighting for what they believe in. You’ll leave better prepared to navigate your own (eventual) burnout.

Project Yellow Brick Road

Our U.S. Senators are CLEARLY lost. We’re building a yellow brick road to help them find their way home. Here’s how:

  • Send yellow bricks — real, foam or cardboard — to Sen. Marshall and Sen. Moran
  • Write a letter expressing the importance of getting back to our roots. (Find a sample on the Resources page.)
