issue circles

If you’re passionate about a particular issue, this is an action-oriented deep-dive. You’ll work on strategy, research and actions related to a specific issue. We are starting with three of the most critical right now, but we’ll expand as need and volunteer support expands. Fill out this form and tell us what is keeping you awake at night!

Democracy and Voting Rights

Circle mandate: Protect free, fair, and accessible democracy by defending voting rights, election integrity, and local control against suppression and manipulation.

Potential action items:

  • Block or mitigate voter suppression policies at the state or local level
  • Support initiatives that promote and enable voter access.

Immigration and ICE Accountability

Circle mandate: Defend immigrant communities by understanding and exposing local laws related to ICE;  understanding elected leaders’ position on ICE; helping organize trainings and business canvassing.

Potential action items:

  • Shining a light on local leaders’/council’s positions on ICE, so people go into elections knowing where people stand.
  • Bringing canvassing and rapid responding broadly throughout the community.

Midterm Elections

Circle mandate: Identify and mobilize around key state issues we face in the midterms in both Kansas and Missouri.

Potential action items:

  • Identify upcoming harmful legislation so we can organize around it.
  • Publicly define what’s happening in Topeka and Jeff City before opponents do
  • Create visible constituent pressure on key legislators
